Google captures images from nook and corner

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Search engine giant, Google is bent upon trying newer and innovative ways to keep the pace up in the competitive environment.

One such initiative is the rolling of a tricycle mounted camera around the campus of University of Pennsylvania. According to a report by AP, A tricycle mounted with an 8-foot (2 1/2-meter) high camera has been moving around the University of Pennsylvania campus to collect panoramic images of the campus for Google Maps' Street View feature.

The company till now has been using car-mounted cameras to prowl streets in the U.S. and around the world. Through this, Google would be able to provide detailed street level images that are unaccessible by cars, giving a good feeling to the campus and a guide map for the students.
