Handset maker Nokia, recently announced its plans to launch a music services in India by the end of this year. As per media reports Nokia has begun testing the services in the country.
When launched, Nokia 'Comes with Music' service would offer consumers unlimited music downloads for a year from the Nokia Music Store - which is expected to be formally launched soon.
With the Nokia Music Store, users would be able to browse, download, and sync music to their computer or directly on to the mobile device.
The music content would be offered in form of vouchers to customers purchasing Nokia products. Users would also have the option to download content over Internet subsequently.
Currently, Nokia is testing the service, which was announced a few months back, in a closed group; they plan to make the service live for the Indian masses in the second half of 2009.
Nokia said on its India music store site that its service uses Microsoft DRM (digital rights management) technology.

Nokia Sells Mobile TV Technology Unit to Wipro
Nokia has sold its enterprise mobile TV unit to India's Wipro, a spokesman for Nokia said on Monday. The Mobile Broadcast Solutions unit had about 40 employees and created software and hardware which enabled the mobile TV technology on the phone to find and access the broadcasting network.
"We wanted to focus on the consumer side of things, the mobile TV client in the devices, rather than on the business-to-business side," said the spokesman. Mobile television broadcasting, the hottest upcoming feature for cellphones only a few years ago, has found little demand anywhere in the world.
